Decision asset · acceptance evidence

From operating state to acceptance evidence.

A selected bearing–shaft state is not yet an acceptance basis. Use this map to preserve state identity, name the decision-changing question, choose the smallest targeted proof and define what will count as closure before interpretation starts.

Connected proof chain

State first. Question second. Proof third.

Detailed evidence should answer one named uncertainty that can still change the engineering decision, then return to the same bearing–shaft candidate.

01

Controlled state

Candidate ID, geometry, clearance, gas state, load, speed and coordinate basis.

02

Decision question

Name the discrepancy or uncertainty that can still change the architecture decision.

03

Targeted proof

Use CFD, FE, test or metrology only where the unresolved question requires it.

04

Acceptance quantity

Define what will be compared, where it is extracted and what constitutes closure.

05

Re-couple

Return accepted evidence to the same state and state what decision is allowed next.

Evidence route planner

Choose the proof by the unresolved question - not by the available software.

The route is deliberately solver-neutral. The method matters only insofar as it can resolve the decision-changing quantity at the controlled state.

Gas film / bearing

Pressure, flow or force closure can change the candidate.

Target proof
Targeted CFD or solver-native pressure / flow profiles.
Preserve
Geometry, clearance, supply state, coordinates and extraction basis.
Closure
Named pressure / flow / force quantity reconciles to the same operating state.
Rotor system

Mode family, response or stability governs the decision.

Target proof
Rotor model, response study or decision-critical dynamic measurement.
Preserve
Support state, shaft-line model, operating speed and forcing basis.
Closure
The governing margin or response quantity is explicit for the controlled state.
Structural / thermal

Deflection, stress or thermal state can move the support condition.

Target proof
Targeted structural or thermal FE at the decision-critical interface.
Preserve
Material, interfaces, load path, boundary conditions and operating state.
Closure
The displacement / stress / temperature quantity is tied to the architecture decision.
Manufacturing / tolerance

Nominal geometry is not enough to hold the conclusion.

Target proof
Tolerance analysis, metrology or controlled manufactured-state evidence.
Preserve
Clearance, form, alignment, surface and assembly basis.
Closure
The acceptable manufacturing envelope is explicit before freeze or acceptance.

Evidence handoff

Six items must travel with every decision-changing proof.

The objective is re-coupling: the detailed result should return to the engineering chain without losing state identity or quietly increasing authority.

01

State identity

Candidate, geometry revision, clearance, gas state, load, speed and coordinates.

02

Open question

One uncertainty or discrepancy that can still change the engineering decision.

03

Target proof

The smallest CFD, FE, test or metrology task able to resolve that question.

04

Acceptance quantity

What is compared, where it is extracted, its units and the acceptance rule.

05

Provenance

Source, model scope, assumptions, setup basis and validation trace.

06

Re-coupling rule

How accepted differences update the same candidate and what is allowed next.

Closure ruleEvidence closes a question only when state identity, acceptance quantity and authority remain explicit.

If any of those changes, the result must be re-coupled and re-qualified before the next irreversible decision.

Not closure evidence

A convincing output can still leave the decision open.

These are common signals that the result may be informative but has not yet closed the engineering question.

An attractive contour image without a controlled state identity.
Solver convergence alone without the decision quantity and closure rule.
One FE mode or one operating point promoted to a full duty-envelope claim.
Undocumented parameter tuning used to obtain an expected result.
A test result that cannot be traced back to the same candidate and operating state.
A historical case deviation promoted into a universal accuracy statement.

Need to know which proof can still change your spindle decision?

An Architecture Screen should identify the governing state, unresolved question and smallest next evidence task before expensive detailed work is commissioned.
